B&H Photo Video has reduced the price of Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 for Mac & Windows to $63.99 until June 16, 2012. This is obviously signals a new version coming soon but if you're on a budget and want to save money for the next lens this is a fantastic deal.
If you are beginner or new to the digital darkroom, Photoshop Elements 10 is the perfect way to start your journey in to digital processing with many great tools for retouching, performing local adjustments and compositing images together. Couple this with Adobe Lightroom 4 for $145, and for a total of $209 you have the best deal in town for a complete set of digital processing tools.
Now don't get me wrong, if you are getting in to heavy compositing and other advanced post processing techniques, there is no replacement for Adobe Photoshop. Its designed for advanced users and carries many more features than Photoshop Elements. But if you're new to digital processing and want to get your feet wet, Photoshop Elements is a great set of tools and will keep you going for some time until you know you need the advanced set of tools in Adobe Photoshop.
With Adobe Photoshop CS6 selling for $670 you can save $461 dollars and process your raw photos with Adobe Lightroom and do any retouching needed in Photoshop Elements. That's what I call a smart workflow.
